Keto Biscuits and Gravy: Comfort Food Without the Carbs

A halved keto biscuit topped with white peppered coconut milk gravy on a white plate, served with KFC-style baked chicken tenders.

A cozy Southern-style breakfast made clean and keto, with a nod to that KFC-style baked chicken you loved!

Is there anything better than warm biscuits smothered in creamy gravy? Yes—when they’re keto-friendly, dairy-free, and totally delicious. If you’ve already tried my KFC-style baked chicken recipe, you’re going to love this follow-up featuring grain-free biscuits and rich, coconut milk gravy that ties everything together.

Whether it’s a weekend brunch, a hearty dinner side, or a soul-satisfying breakfast, this keto biscuits and gravy combo proves that comfort food doesn’t need carbs to be good.

The Biscuits: Fluffy, Tender, and Grain-Free

These keto biscuits are tender on the inside with a golden crust—thanks to Nature’s Eats All-Purpose Almond Flour, which gives them a lighter, softer texture than regular almond flour.

Ingredients (Makes 6–8 biscuits):

1 1/2 cups Nature’s Eats All-Purpose Almond Flour

2 tbsp coconut flour

1 tbsp baking powder (aluminum-free)

1/2 tsp salt

3 large eggs

1/3 cup full-fat coconut milk (or almond milk)

1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

Optional: 1/4 tsp garlic powder or dried herbs

Note: I recommend using Nature’s Eats All-Purpose Almond Flour rather than coarse almond meal or blanched almond flour. It produces a softer, more tender biscuit with less grit and a more bread-like texture—perfect for soaking up that rich coconut gravy.

The Gravy: Dairy-Free, Keto, and Comforting

This creamy gravy uses full-fat coconut milk, garlic, salt, and pepper, and is thickened naturally with arrowroot powder instead of flour or cornstarch.

Ingredients:

1 cup full-fat coconut milk

1/2 cup water or homemade chicken broth

1 garlic clove, minced (or 1/2 tsp garlic powder)

1/4 tsp sea salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

1–1.5 tsp arrowroot powder, mixed with 2 tsp cold water to make a slurry

Instructions:

In a small saucepan, bring coconut milk and water/broth to a gentle simmer.

Add garlic, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 3–5 minutes.

Stir in arrowroot slurry and continue stirring until thickened.

Remove from heat and taste for seasoning.

Want more depth? Add a pinch of poultry seasoning or dried sage.

Biscuits and gravy make a hearty breakfast meal, especially when they’re clean, keto, and full of comfort.

Bringing It Together

To serve, slice a warm biscuit in half, spoon coconut milk gravy generously over the top, and enjoy with a side of:

Sautéed spinach

Fried eggs

Leftover Keto KFC-style baked chicken (yes, gravy over chicken is a thing!)

Bacon

Sausage

Zucchini Hash Browns
