Soft, Tangy Low-Carb Rolls Perfect for Sandwiches and Meals

Dear Readers and Subscribers,

If you’ve already made keto sourdough bread, the next logical step is learning how to make keto sourdough rolls or buns. These soft, flavorful rolls are perfect for sandwiches, burgers, or as a side for soups and salads.

Keto sourdough rolls have the same tangy flavor as sourdough bread but are shaped into individual portions, making them convenient for everyday meals. They’re easy to slice, freeze well, and make keto sandwiches feel much more like traditional comfort food.

Let’s get baking!

Keto Sourdough Rolls And Buns Recipe

Ingredients

2 cups fine blanched almond flour

1/2 cup coconut flour

1/4 cup psyllium husk powder

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

4 large eggs

1/4 cup olive oil or melted butter

1/4 cup water

1/4 cup keto sourdough starter

Optional toppings:

sesame seeds

poppy seeds

hemp seeds

sunflower seeds

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Mix the Dry Ingredients:

In a large mixing bowl, combine:

almond flour

coconut flour

psyllium husk powder

baking powder

salt

Mix thoroughly to prevent clumps.

Combine the Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together:

eggs

olive oil (or melted butter)

water

keto sourdough starter

Mix until smooth.

Make the Dough

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a thick dough forms.

Let the dough sit 3–5 minutes so the psyllium husk can absorb moisture and firm up the mixture.

Shape the Rolls

Divide the dough into 6–8 equal portions.

Shape each portion into a round roll using slightly damp hands.

Place the rolls on the parchment-lined baking sheet with space between them.

Sprinkle seeds on top if desired.

Bake

Bake the rolls for 30–40 minutes, or until golden brown and firm to the touch.

The bottoms should sound slightly hollow when tapped.

Cool Before Serving

Allow the rolls to cool for 10–15 minutes before slicing. This helps the crumb set properly.
